Implementation of PROSCIG Civil Documentation Project in Northwest Cameroon
RAGJ, with support from the GIZ under the PROSCIG Programme (EU co-funded), has been facilitating access to civil documentation for vulnerable and displaced persons in Mezam and Momo divisions since September 2025.
This project focuses on improving access to legal identity documents (access to birth certificates, national identity cards, and disability cards) while providing socio-legal support to vulnerable individuals and families. By improving access to essential (education, healthcare, administrative, and civil) services for communities affected by crisis, this initiative strengthens protection, community-level governance, and community resilience.
Also, this intervention is grounded in the Relief and Recovery pillar of UNSCR 1325, which emphasizes restoring rights, dignity, and access to services for women, girls, and other at-risk groups in conflict settings. It integrates gender-sensitive and protection-focused approaches to ensure equitable access for women, children, persons with disabilities, and displaced populations. It helps children and families access education, healthcare, and protection services.
Implementation is ongoing across target communities.
