Organizational Background and Operational Context

RAGJ is a non-profit organization established in 2013 with a focus on promoting the voices, and social and economic opportunities of girls and women in Cameroon. RAGJ engages girls and women in decision-making through action research, monitoring the effectiveness of laws for gender integration in good governance programming, building the capacity of citizens, and information sharing and networking. Through evidence-based advocacy strategies, RAGJ addresses microeconomic and macroeconomic governance issues to promote women’s economic participation and overall progress.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Psychologist based in Bamenda and working primarily in Boyo division. The Psychologist will be responsible for providing mental health counselling and psychological assessment services for the organization's constituents, particularly young women and girls. The Psychologist will collaborate with other members of the organization to design and deliver programs that promote the mental health and well-being of girls and women in Cameroon.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of psychology, counselling, mental health, and psychological assessment;
  • Experience in providing counselling and psychological assessment services to diverse populations, particularly to young women and girls;
  • Experience in NGO settings and ability to collaborate with development professionals;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Passionate about advocating for gender justice and advancing the social and economic opportunities of girls and women in Cameroon;
  • Master’s degree in psychology.
